Anthony Woodward was born in London in 1960.

He studied painting at Salisbury and Cambridge Art Colleges, gaining a Higher Degree in Fine Art.

Since leaving college, Anthony Woodward has worked as an illustrator and set designer.

He now concentrates on portrait and figurative painting.

Anthony Woodward’s painting is inspired by his love for the human figure. He seeks to discover how it all fits together as he works on the faces, the skin, and applies the colours. Add to this his skill in capturing moments of intimacy, of victory, or the drama of the downright improbable.

His exhibitions include, in London, Lauderdale House, Brown’s, Dray Walk Gallery and Hay Hill Gallery. In the West Country, he has exhibited at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury, Art for Youth, Brockenhurst, and the Royal Bath and West Show.
